Vintage Enicar Sherpa 100 automatic wristwatch featuring the distinctive TV-shaped case and powered by the original Swiss Enicar Cal. A-R 177 automatic movement. The watch is fitted with a gold coloured TV-shaped mid case measuring approximately 32 mm (excluding the crown) x 31 mm. Condition This is an original vintage example showing honest signs of age and wear accumulated over decades of use. Please note the following condition issues: The gold-coloured finish shows wear and lifting in places, consistent with age and use. The dial shows age-related patina and ageing. Surface scratches are present on the case, case back and acrylic crystal, consistent with normal vintage use. Despite these cosmetic imperfections, the watch remains a desirable and increasingly collectible vintage Enicar model. The watch is sold as requiring a service due to its age and unknown service history. No guarantee is given regarding long-term timekeeping accuracy or long-term reliability. Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.   Founded in 1914, Enicar became one of Switzerland’s respected watch manufacturers, earning an excellent reputation during the 1950s and 1960s for producing reliable automatic watches. The Sherpa collection became the company’s flagship range after Enicar timepieces accompanied several Himalayan expeditions, reinforcing the brand’s reputation for durability and precision. The Sherpa 100 represents the later evolution of this successful collection, combining dependable Swiss automatic movements with the bold TV-shaped case designs that became fashionable during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Powered by the Enicar Calibre A-R 177, these watches remain popular with collectors who appreciate original Enicar manufacture movements and the distinctive styling of the period.
