Condition: The bezel is very tight but can be closed. The case back secures much better once the movement is installed, as it locates against the two movement retaining screws. History: The German Beobachtungsuhr (B-Uhr) was developed to strict Luftwaffe specifications for use by navigators during the Second World War. Only five manufacturers were officially contracted to produce these famous observation watches: Laco, Wempe, Stowa, A. Lange & Söhne and IWC. Laco B-Uhr watches were fitted with the renowned Durowe D5 movement, a large high-grade pocket watch calibre manufactured until 1945. Original cases intended for the Durowe D5 movement are increasingly difficult to source and are highly desirable for authentic restorations and serious military watch collections.
