The Broad Arrow is the official British Government property mark used on military equipment accepted into Ministry of Defence service. The 0552 military code was allocated to equipment supplied for Royal Navy service, while 521-6482 is the official military stores designation for this type of stopwatch. The engraved number 1681/72 is the original military issue number. Lemania supplied precision timing instruments to the British armed forces for decades, and split seconds stopwatches were used where highly accurate interval timing was required. Original military-issued Lemania split seconds chronographs are now increasingly scarce and highly desirable among collectors of military timepieces.
